Alexandria is a half-blood offspring of the demigods. She is tough, she is rough, and not afraid to kick some ass and speak her mind! She is strong and in these short pages shows it time and time again. First by running, yes running, accepting that survival is more important than her grief. Then later, when she is dragged down by grief, by mentally slapping herself and picking herself up to continue surviving. I just loved Alexandria from the first page! I think she is going to be up there with other badass heroines like Rose Hathaway and Katniss Everdeen.

The plot was also very interesting. The idea of the Pure-bloods and Half-bloods, and how they declared Alexandria less than that, but there are hints she can actually be more. Also, Pure-bloods have power over one element (fire, water, air, earth), so I’ll be looking forward to some major elemental battles. And some major issues with the ‘no mixing’ between the Half-bloods and Pure-bloods, since Alexandria seems to have a major crush on some hunky grey eyed Pure-blood.

The Daimons (evil guys) are quite awful and scary. They are things that feed on aether, the essence of the gods. And though Alexandria is only a half-blood (meaning less aether) they manage to track her as if her aether was large and easy enough to detect. I sense a mystery there!

The copy of Daimon I downloaded also included a few pages of Half-Blood. It basically continues the minute after Daimon finishes, so that was cool. And what’s more, I got to meet Aiden St. Delphi, Alexandria’s forbidden crush!

I strongly encourage you to go read this!

A short glimpse into the life of a Alex before the events of the series started. It was a quick read, with not much new revelations.

Hear me out because I know I have strong opinions for books I read/listen to - I like this series, I'm actually devouring and almost finished with book 1 right now. But this prequel isn't necessary, and the first bit of her and her lil boyfriend is a COMPLETE waste of filler fluff. We got a moment with her mom because of it but it honestly didn't give 'I love my daughter/mom SO much' vibes I think it was meant to give. The action started way too late for me but it was nice to have that information going into the first book. Was it necessary? No. But I'm glad to have had it.

Uscito dopo half-blood ma prequel di quest'ultimo. Consiglio di non seguire l'ordine editoriale ma di leggere prima Daimon poichè praticamente finisce là dove half-bood inizia. :)

i would give this 3.5 stars. it wasn’t the best but not the worst. it is the start of the whole series so it’s not like amazing but i did read it very fast and it held my attention.

adventurous dark sad fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The first half is cliché-galore. Something quite interesting happens in the middle. It ends with a cliffhanger, which serves the purpose of being a prequel to the actual first novel of the series. I might read the first one in the future just to satiate my curiosity about what will happen.

Wow. Intense prequel. I can't wait to meet this 'older guy'!
