the first half of the book was amazing but the rest was a bit slow

Es introductorio y predecible, pero como historia corta esta bien.
Sirve para conocer mejor a la protagonista y su mundo.

A short but punchy prequel that sets the tone perfectly for the world of the Covenant series. Right from the first page, Alexandria’s voice leaps off the page, sharp, snarky, and full of heart. Her humor and rawness make it easy to connect with her, even as the world around her quickly spins out of control.

This novella throws you straight into the action, no slow build-up here. The tension is immediate, and the danger feels very real as Alex is forced to flee after a horrifying attack. It lays the groundwork for the larger story to come while giving us just enough of a taste of the world, the daimons, and Alex’s internal struggles to leave you needing more.

For a short read, Daimon packs in a surprising amount of emotion, especially as we see Alex wrestle with loss, fear, and the instincts that were ingrained in her long ago. If you’re planning to jump into the Covenant series, this is a perfect, high-stakes start, and it does exactly what a prequel should: hook you and make you desperate for the next book.

⭐ 4/5 - Fast-paced, emotional, and packed with attitude, a must-read prequel if you’re diving into the Covenant world.

This was a really nice and descriptive intro to Alex's character....

I got to see her mom...and her relationship with her mom. It was necessary.

And it also describes her feelings for Aiden

I really like the author Jennifer L. Armentrout, so I decided to start this series. I read the prequel before I read the first book like I did with the Lux Series and I'm surprised at how it ended. I kinda wanted to know what happened, but I guess that's what authors have to do to get people to continue reading.
I expected just a little more from Daimon but I don't know why. I guess it was difficult for me to think of it in perspective, although I love Alex, she is rude. But I love Alex because she reminds me of me.

After reading Half-Blood
Now I understand why you would need that book in the series. It explains everything that you need to know for the next book. As said above, I enjoyed Alex's comments and remarks, but I especially love when she put that guys head in the sand! So funny.

Either way, I am going to read Half-Blood and I will read it happily.
I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Jennifer's writing.

This short and quick prequel to the novel Half-Blood is an excellent introduction to Alex, the main character, and a half blood, as she starts what appears to be a dangerous and exciting journey! She's being hunted by Daimons, who feed on aether (essence and life force of the gods) that runs through her blood.

This short introduction grows faster and faster paced with each new chapter! It will leave wanting to get your hands on the novel that follows it (Half-Blood) right away!
