Eigentlich hörte sich die Fortsetzung ganz gut an, aber irgendwie hatte ich das Gefühl das man Ragdoll übertrumpfen wollte.
An sich fand ich das Setting nicht schlecht aber irgendwie war mir alles zu viel im Endeffekt. Doch auf der anderen Seite war ich auch gut unterhalten. Irgendwie sehr schwierig für mich einzusortieren das Ganze.
Die Charaktere sind sehr verschieden, zumal diesmal noch das FBI hinzu kommt. Streckenweise hatte ich ein wenig Probleme die Personen richtig ein zu sortieren. Baxter ist für mich kein einfacher Charakter und irgendwie finde ich die Beziehung zu Thomas merkwürdig. Zumal sie sich da wohl auch gut verstellt. Sie kommt bei mir nicht sympathisch rüber. Das private Leben der verschiedenen Charaktere war streckenweise für mich etwas unnötig bzw. hat es mich einfach nicht interessiert
Anfangs fand ich das Hörbuch etwas schleppend was die Spannung angeht und ändert sich erst zum Ende hin. Auf der einen Seite finde ich das in die Irre führen gar nicht mal so schlecht während der Ermittlungen, auf der anderen Seite habe ich aber auch irgendwie den Faden dadurch verloren.
Der Sprecher hat eine angenehme Stimme und bringt die Geschichte schon recht gut rüber.
Ich muss aber gestehen das ich vom Epilog überrascht war.
Ich bin aber nicht sicher ob ich noch den dritten Teil mir zu Gemüte führe. Allein wegen des Epilogs ist meine Neugier geweckt. Mal sehen.

עלוב ביותר. עלילה מבולגנת וחסרת היגיון. דמויות שזקוקות לאשפוז.
לפעמים לא ברור לי למה אני מתעקשת לקרוא ספרים עד הסוף למרות שאין בהם שמץ של הנאה.
הערת אגב: לא הבנתי למה לסדרה קוראים "פוקס ובקסטר" למרות שבקסטר היא הבלשית היחידה, ופוקס הוא בסך הכל דמות שמישהו מזכיר בכמה שורות בספר אך כלל אינו מופיע בו.

I was so excited to read the follow up to the hugely successful Ragdoll - and Hangman, the second in the Detective William Fawkes series, definitely doesn't disappoint! Much like the first, it's a rollercoaster of a ride of tension, mystery and general craziness as the focus turns to Baxter this time, and a string of gory murders in the US which have worryingly familiar elements to them...
I have to say, at first I was a little worried that I wouldn't get to read about Fawkes, who I loved in the last book - however, Baxter more than makes up for it, truly shining with her cutting comments and no-nonsense attitude. I absolutely loved reading about her, and some new characters to add to the mix in Curtis and Rouche who, although very different to Baxter, is another brilliant character who kept me wanting to read on. The characters are really what makes this story such addictive reading; that mixed with brilliant humorous scenes (with a heavy dose of black humour, which I loved) and fantastic situations (some completely crazy and unbelievable, but who cares?) which kept me laughing throughout. It may have even beaten Ragdoll for me (no mean feat!), as I felt like I had more of a grasp on what was going on in this novel - well, to some extent - there was plenty to craziness to keep track of!
I'd forgotten how brilliantly entertaining Daniel Cole's writing is, and Hangman left me desperately wanting more - that ending too! Bring on book 3 (and quickly, please!).

Only okay
This wasn't great but at the same time I want to get to the end to find out who was behind the killings. Baxter is the lead in this but it is lacking for not having wolf.

puh dieses buch war... schwierig. ich liebe cole’s schreibstil und seine charaktere (egal wie viele macken sie haben) aber diese story hat mir leider echt nicht zugesagt - sie wurde immer größer und weitläufiger und verworrener und ab der hälfte bin ich nur mehr dagesessen und habe mich gefragt, was schief gelaufen ist. dass das ende beinahe genauso abläuft wie im ersten teil fand ich auch mühsam und unkreativ (und bin mir bis jetzt nicht sicher, ob ich das alles richtig verstanden habe)
