Still loving the series just as much. Just when you start missing one of the main characters from Ragdoll, another one swoops in to claim another piece of your heart. Daniel Cole has created another dark, fast paced thriller laced with humor and sarcasm.

This author.. is so fucking amazing with his writing. I read this book straight after reading Ragdoll and I am absolutely engulfed in this series.

The new characters work so well with the story and they perfectly intertwine some of the old characters as well. I was so interested in this new storyline and I cannot wait to read the new 2 books. The new storyline added so much to the story and led the readers on a whole new chase for the killer.

Following Baxter again was so interesting. I didn't know how much I would enjoy having only her in the story without Wolf, but it was very enjoyable. The addition of Rouche was so perfect and I loved his character. I hope he shows up in later books. Overall, this has to be one of my favourite thriller series that I have read thus far. I am so excited to keep reading this series.

“What if there is a god?...what if there is a heaven?...What if there is a hell?...And what if...just what if...we’re all already there?”

Hangman by Daniel Cole is the second book in the Detective Fawkes series and is based on DCI Emily Baxter. There is a copycat killer causing havoc both in London and across the Atlantic. Baxter has to reluctantly team up with Special Agents Rouche and Curtis to apprehend this killer.

Ragdoll is the first book in this trilogy series and after reading it I was very excited for Hangman. Just reading the first chapter left me wanting more. Daniel Cole has managed to write a great fast paced crime thriller. There are many twists which lead to shocking revelations. As with the first book the crime scenes are quite gorey and horrific and I cringed whilst reading them!! As expected there are many new characters in this book. There’s some you will love and ones you will hate which shows they have been written perfectly to fit the story. Emily Baxter is a complex character who doesn’t care what people think of her and she is witty and funny. It was great to see her in charge in this story and adapting to the chaos around her. The story is easy to follow and the ending frustrated me for reasons when you read it you will understand 😬 overall I thought this was a great sequel to Ragdoll, it excited me and kept me wanting more and it was full of surprises I didn’t see coming. I’ve no idea when the third book will be out but I need it now!! 😫

I have been trying to read this book for months and thought I’d better try and read it before book three. It is my favourite of the series, Baxter is a brilliant character who made me laugh many times. Especially with the spider and her atrocious people skills. It is violent and gory but it’s humour makes it special and it is crying out to be televised.
