This series just keeps getting better! I absolutely loved the growth and banter Ellie and Landon have between them. The suspense subplot was so well written in this one. Dislike to lovers can be one of my least favorite tropes but I couldnβt put this one down.
Landon is a top tier book boyfriend who falls first. Ellie is a strong FMC who doesnβt take his crap and gives it right back. We still get to see some prior stories characters in these interconnected stand alone. I canβt wait for the next book already!

Landen has the patience of a gosh darned saint! Are you friggin kiddin me!? He waited four years for Ellie. He tried to be her friend at minimum, but she was hell-bent on pushing him away & disliking him to his core.
Ellie is so sweet! Her hard exterior has its reasons, but she is still the epitome of kindness & heart. She is definitely a bit mean towards Landen, but again, she has her reasons! When the author divulges the purpose for this enemies to lovers divide, I audibly gasped.
The connection was not what I anticipated.
I laughed so hard at Landen's twisted bull fiasco and the clothing choices of his siblings. Top it off with the fact that he meets Ellie in this outfit. Snap, I laughed so hard I was cryin.crying.
The conversations with the teenagers & the use of their slang was great. Landen felt "old" & as the mom of a pre-teen, RELATABLE.

The character development was done really well in this book. The emotional turmoil was strong. The supportive family dynamic, as always, was super well done. I found this book exciting!!! I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

I am completely in love with this series. These characters are so fun and exactly who you'd want to be your real-life friends. This story starts with tragedy (be sure to read the triggers), but it really evolves into a beautiful story of tenacity, knowing exactly what you want and being patient enough to wait for it. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments, and a lot more swoony and sexy moments. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Landen and Ellie and despite their challenges, their story wrapped up beautifully.

Ellie is training with Landenβs sister and from the moment she saw Landen sheβs made her dislike of him known. Nobody has any idea why she dislikes him and she refuses to tell a soul. After an accident, Ellie loses all memory of hating Landen and finally lets her guard down with him.
I LOVED Landenβs character in the book. He was goofy, fun loving, and loved to crack jokes. He was also caring and kind, even when Ellie made her dislike to him known. Landen was still there to help her train and better herself. He also rushed to her side any time she was in need of help.
Ellieβs character development was refreshing - It was a breath of fresh air watching her go from a guarded girl who was cynical in life to someone carefree and enjoying her surroundings.
The prologue was super heavy and itβs so important in my opinion to read the triggers before going into this book. However, the prologue set the book up so nicely.

I had no idea what the direction of their story was going to go, but boy oh boy was I excited.
Ellie is a pro barrel racer training at Sugarland Creek with Landenβs sister Noah. Landen is Sugarland Creeks Breeding Operations Manger and also assists Noah with training her clients.
Ellieβs connection to Landon was not at all what I was expecting. It was definitely a twist I wasnβt anticipating, but it only fuelled my dislike for a certain someone.
Despite Ellie continually being mean and rude to Landen he never once treated her that way. Sure he annoyed the crap out of her, but it wasnβt until she really told him off that he decided it was probably time to move on. Fate had other plans though, Ellie suffered an elliptic episode, which then resulted in a concussion with memory loss. She had no recollection of Landen or why she would hate him. What I really enjoyed about this, was the fact that everyone made it known how much she disliked him. They never tried to cover it up even though Ellie didnβt understand why she would have hated Landen.
I loved watching them fall as they got their chance at love. Talking about their future and dreams on their first date was so damn sweet. Iβm ready to move in with them cause that house is right up my alley.
As a fellow New Girl lover (hehe itβs my comfort show), I was giddy over the fact that Landen was siting down with some popcorn watching reruns by himself. Man after my own heart.
Iβm glad Ellie finally saw the light and was able to move past the lies she was told and pick her HEA with Landen.
Excited to see where the twins take us. Their protective streak for Mallory got me a little hot and bothered.
