Found it hard to put this books down. Good pace and based around the intricacies of personal lives we often don’t see.

It was a little problematic, some scenes were a little cringey, and also there were low key some plot holes?? Or just bad storytelling I guess? However, I did enjoy the read, and the ending did get me good.

I’d give it a 3.5, but apparently Colleen Hoover doesn’t know how to properly use commas in complex sentences, so we have to dock it for that.
emotional inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

Confess by Colleen Hoover is a standalone novel that allows the reader to believe in fate and love, even when everything is against Auburn and Owen. Confess is told from first person point of views for both Auburn and Owen and provides a love story that struggles against multiple obstacles, making them both stronger and more real. I loved how Colleen Hoover creates characters that readers can relate to and follow in their growth as individuals and a couple. Auburn and Owen have many flaws but their determination and love for one another allows the reader to refuse to put the book down until their story is over. I would recommend this novel to fans of contemporary romance.

wow. absolutely wow. chills. i have no words. this book was fabulous from cover to cover

This book just didn’t come together for me. On the surface I found Auburn and Owen generally likable, but I did not find Auburn’s reactions believable at the end. Actually, the reactions themselves were believable but the writing of them were not. In general I just don’t like the first person emotional data dumps that happened throughout this book. It’s pretty jarring having paragraph after paragraph of “I feel this” and “I think that”. I think she has written this better in other books, so maybe this is a reflection of honing her style. Trey did not feel real to me, he seemed more like a character sketch. I do like the actual confessions and the use of Owen’s art to convey them. That felt unique and intriguing. I also found Adam’s parts, while small, compelling and sweet.

In summary, I like the idea of this book, it just didn’t come together for me.

The paintings did it for me!!!!!!!
