I read this out of sheer curiosity given that she's so popular and WOW. The writing was bad, the main character called herself a whore (just for... letting a man into her apartment...), the relationships were wildly toxic, and the plot "twists" were all immensely predictable. I save one-star ratings for things I don't finish because hell, I've never written a novel so I don't feel especially authorized to be overly mean to people who've done something I haven't, and if nothing else this was certainly page-turning fluff, but... whew boy. If this is what women are reading these days, I'm genuinely concerned.
This is my first Colleen Hoover book and now I understand why people love her so much. This book was completely amazing! It wasn't as emotional as I thought it was going to be, which I am thankful for. I read it in a matter of 2-3 hours it was so good. I did not want it to end. This is a must read book for everybody!
eh, a quick read, some interesting character developments, but overall a little predictable

I read this book on a sick day and wow, the writing and plot and art in this novel were such a mood lifter. My headache was all but forgotten reading this wonderful book.
Actual Rating: 4.5
I read this book during a CoHo buddy read with two of my friends from bookstagram. I went into this book without reading the synopsis and let me tell you it completely blew me away. This book is amazing. The characters, the story line, the visual elements and the art; especially the art!
The chemistry and mystery between Auburn and Owen made me finish this book in less than 9 hours. Both the characters have their flaws and that’s what makes them perfect. And not only the main characters, the side characters had a very important part. If even a single one had been missing, the book wouldn’t have been so amazing.
The story line was quite different. I’ve never been so interested in confessions but now i have different feelings towards the word “confession”. The feelings, situation and circumstances that are behind a confession. The whole plot was filled with romance, mystery and suspense.
Since Owen owns an art gallery, so different pictures of art were also a part of this book. Danny O’Connor, whose artwork is a part of the book is amazing. It adds so much depth to the story and supports the plot. Plus it is beautiful!
The book was filled with romance, suspense, mystery and a lot of confessions. The combination of romance and mystery made the book a light and easy read.
I would’ve given it 5 stars but i had a little problem with it. The book had too much intimacy! Like it wasn’t even necessary at some points. People say every Colleen Hoover book is too “intimate” but this aspect of the book made me cringe.
The writing style is really simple. Colleen writes beautifully and I’ll soon be picking another book by her. Her words are simple yet beautiful.
The book is beautiful.
