"I'll love you forever... Even when I can't."
If this story were food, it'd be hot chocolate in a mug which you hold in both hands covered in your too-long-at-the-sleeves sweater. It's a cold night so the chocolate warms your hands, and when you blow on it and sip, it sends a warm fuzzy feeling all around you... And this is what 'home' feels like.

I love it, I loved it, I will always love it. It was so good. The twists were so amazing, one second I was angry, the next second my jaw was on the floor, then I was fighting away tears so I could carry on reading. Colleen hoover never fails to impress.
The way the book kept me going “just one more chapter” everyday time from the beginning right the way to the end was just amazing.
The way everything was wrapped up perfectly at the end

4.5. Beautifully written and another amazing book by colleen i just wish the ending was a little longer and drawn out
2.5 stars.
I was excited to have another Hoover novel to read - I really liked the first one I read - November 9 - but since then, each of her novels have fallen slightly flat with me.
There are always elements I enjoy, in this case the confessions and art were a nice addition. There's always something I don't like though - in this case, the way Auburn referred to herself as a whore for wanting to sleep with someone!, and I didn't totally buy into their romance.
Having said that, I will read more from her. There is certainly a Hoover style, and I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not, but they're the type of books you need to take a break from before reading more.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as Ugly Love. For some reason I really couldn't connect to the story or the characters. The story kept me reading. There were a lot of questions that I had, which is why I kept reading. It wasn't a bad story, I just wasn't as connected to this book as I have been to others.
Hoover’s books are hit and miss for me. It’s so interesting. She has downright gripping stories like Verity and then just predictable, annoying stories like November 9th. This was a definite miss.
Auburn was an annoyingly spineless character, while Owen and Trey were sooooo predictable; as were the majority of the events. I felt like I was watching that cringe Tik-tok trend where they pretend to be arrested while miming “I love you”?
Like, The plot was interesting in the first two chapters and then it just fell flat and felt unbelievable. The sentence structure and dialogue felt awkward. There was a lot of telling rather than showing. Ex: I did this, then this and I felt this and this and this. It came off whiny, overdramatic and annoying.
And I truly don’t know many people who constantly say the other persons name after each statement (ex: “your hair looks terrible Owen, where are you going Owen, I think you should write more confessions Owen, Owen Owen Owen.” My god I think I read his name 80000 times!

This was the least awful CoHo I had to read for the last 10 years of winners
I read this for a video where I read the last 10 years of goodreads winners. It was something. If your curious here are my full thoughts.

One of my all time favorites. Love this one. Owen Gentry (Artist) and Auburn. The beginning talks about her first love, young love (16), cancer. Then to her life at 20. Young mom trying to provide/get custody of her son. Falls in love with art gallery owner Owen. Fate. Destiny. Cop brother who is protective and tries to get in the way. Father addiction. Sacrifice. The plot twist on this one is everything. Did not see if coming! Owen creates art inspired by people's darkest confessions.
