Struggled to connect with FMC at times,

Adena’s death was predictable, and honestly, something about the only POC character dying to help the main character,

does not sit right. The

King/Prince scenario

was also predictable. It felt very stale, almost like something was lacking. Failed to grip me, took me long to read because I was reluctant to continue, could’ve easily DNF’d. Again, felt very meh. Heard the 2nd book is

Adena’s

perspective, which I defo will not read. Why would I want to read the same boring story twice? Kind of enjoyed the (kind of) love triangle tbh.
