A great, if slight, tale of a haunting revealing the cracks in a marriage. Read this to finally get into the Summoner’s Circle series and it did not disappoint.

Not my favourite of the series but I like how it gives a deeper insight into Rhys and Moira’s marriage as evocation mainly focuses on David and ascension mainly focuses on the three of them together rather than much about Rhys and moiras relationship apart from David I liked how action packed it was and I was happy with the resolution and pacing, I really enjoyed this and can’t wait for my next evocation hit in the series

📚 *Odd Spirits* by S.T. Gibson
📖 Format: eARC via NetGalley
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC — this is my honest review.
This little novella is pure gothic, witchy perfection. *Odd Spirits* reads like a spell whispered at midnight — delicate, potent, and full of heart. 🌙🕯️
S.T. Gibson has such a gift for writing complicated, tender queer love. The story follows Rhys and Moira, a married couple — one a chaos-loving demon-summoner, the other a devout spiritualist priestess — as they try to hold their marriage together through both mundane and magical tension. The prose is rich and lyrical without being overwrought, and the way their emotional distance mirrors their conflicting magical philosophies? Stunning.
It's a book about reconnection, compromise, love that’s grown a little tattered — but still deeply worth saving. Queer, magical, and deeply adult in all the right ways. Honestly, I read it in one sitting and already want to reread it under candlelight with a glass of red wine.
Short but absolutely *spellbinding*.

Honestly a good amount going on for simply a novella. It was nice to revisit the characters, and now I’m excited to read Ascension.
