For most of the time, i absolutely loved this book, then brief spells where I was mad and didn't want to finish it, but then it brought me round again. I loved it! I definitely couldn't put it down, that's for sure.
so at first i wasnt so sure i was going to like the book just because of how stubborn and short sighted alyce was being but the way the story concluded was so good. it thought it was super fitting to the characters and i loved the growth that both alyce and aurora had. and im glad things just didnt get patched over like a picture perfect ending. its still messy but its realistic and i really enjoyed it.

i liked the time skip, but this new world felt underdeveloped. it was great in book one, but then she just scrapped all that world building when alyce destroyed briar. now it’s all boring dark vs light fae politics
One of the best sapphic fantasies I have ever read. 100% recommend. I flew through the entire thing and could not wait to devour the second one. It is so easy to relate to Alyce if you were a high school lesbian in the 2010s lol. Or if you are generally someone who does not fit in. This book def made me smile a few times! Absolutely read this if you have a rainy afternoon.
