First book was good. This one dragged. Characters were rather infuriating.

Absolutely loved the first book, but unfortunately not the second in this duology. While it had its moments, the book felt mostly drawn out and repetitive. Too many betrayals and “plot twists” to make the reader feel sure of anything. Did not find myself rooting for the main characters by the end…predictable lessons. Had good potential but unfortunately fell short

This felt like I was repeatedly slapped in the face. Very hurtful. Not devastating but very hurtful. Man.
I can‘t say I‘m super satisfied with this ending, to be honest. Kinda … idk. Maybe realistic but… Mostly just unsatisfying to me. I‘m a romantic at heart and my little romantic heart was kinda kicked by realism.

I didn’t make it past 50% into book 1… it just was taking too long and I was more so annoyed than I was intrigued
I preferred "Malice", but this book was outstanding!
The vibe felt so different to the previous book, but not so different that it didn't make sense. In this book we follow Alyce (now called Nimara) 100 years after the events of the first book. The kingdom of Briar has changed, and Nimara frantically tries to repair struggles she faced at the end of the previous book.
I loved Nimara in this book. Her character development from the first book/ throughout this book was refreshing. Gone is the victim of the first book, instead replaced by a confident, powerful leader.
Concepts of morality and perspective are at the forefront of this novel, allowing the reader to question their own ideas of justice.
Overall a really good end to the duology!
