First book of the year started with a literal bang! Loved this book so much, Adam is so lovely and hot and I love this story so much!

There were plenty of deeply uncomfortable moments but I really wanted to Have Read this so I know, sampling and all. If I knew literally anything about Reylo I don’t think I would’ve been able to finish it. That said, I did not hate it. I like the consistency + arcs of the characters, I think.

did it make me smile a bunch of times? yes. did it have me unvelievably frustrated the first and last 100 pages? also yes. did the main character frustrate me into oblivion? that too.
i enjoyed this for a chunk of the middle and it had me giggling for a bit but sadly i really don't like how this book uses SA in its narrative, the miscommunication and the FMC.

an easy, if cheesy read, but this book had one of the most egregious sex scenes I've ever read. For starters, it was ~30 pages long of 350 pages total. For second, it was the weirdest mix of adult fantasy and childish speculation. It was SO AWKWARD. The constant back and forth throughout of "are you suuuuurrrreeeee you want to fuck???" provides an unflattering (and definitely unsexy) caricature of asking for consent before and during sex. I get that the character is socially awkward, but this felt excessive.
Overall, it was fine. Good for when you want a cute, predictable rom-com.
