Book four in the Southern Vamppire Mystery series.
Sookie's ex-boyfriend, Bill the vampire, has taken off for Peru. While driving one night, she sees Bill's obnoxious boss, Eric, running down the road, naked and terrified. She stops to pick him up and finds that he has no idea who he is.
After contacting Pam, Eric's second in command, Sookie agrees to hide him from the coven of shape-shifting witches who are responsible for his memory loss and who want to take over his business. The new Eric is much more "human" and Sookie soon realizes that she is in love with him.
Meanwhile, her brother disappears and Sookie is once again caught up in supernatural drama.

I really enjoyed this one, I liked the tension through out the whole story and the other side to Eric's personality.
Not getting sick of reading these one after the other. That's a good sign!
This is probably my favorite in the series (and most likely will continue to be as I read on). I just love Eric Northman with all my heart and this book had so much focus on him and so little of Bill. It was the perfect scenario for me.
Still not the biggest fan of Sookie, but that's not unusual.

This is probably one of my favorite books of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I love that we get to see more interactions between Sookie and Eric (even if it is an amnesiac Eric) and that there are more revelations about vampire, werewolf, and shifter politics and relations. It's a good mystery and a good adventure--the mystery of what happened to Jason after he goes missing, and the adventure of getting Eric's memory back.
The writing as always is good, fun, and makes for a fast read. The characters are lively and vibrant, and I love that we see even more of Pam this book. I love Sookie's development over the course of the book and I like that she really becomes tougher (and a little less whiny and not constantly crying) by the end of the book. Even Jason's character grows leaps and bounds from where he was in the first book, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of that.
I can't wait to see how Sookie and Eric's relationship develops and how the politics are revealed, and even how Jason is going to be in the coming books. I'm having a lot of fun re-reading these and they're just such great books for a fun and fast read.

These books are all starting to run together. Also, if Charlaine Harris keeps adding a new kind of supernatural being (or two) in every book, it's going to get really confusing.

The events in this novel cover the events of Season Four of True Blood, more or less. There are, of course, some minor and major deviations from the novel in the tv show, the major being the storylines of some major characters. Overall, a decent Sookie Stackhouse novel, though those who fell in love with the Bill/Sookie pairing may not like it.
In this installment, Sookie is driving home from work one night to find head vampire, Eric, running down the road with amnesia. Sookie takes him home, cares for him, and develops nurturing feelings for him. With a new mix of Weres, Shapeshifters, and Vampires, Sookie must try to find out who kidnapped or killed her brother, all while caring for Eric, who has been hexed by the witches in the area.
This was my favorite of the series so far, and although I originally felt a lot of irritation at the direction that I saw Harris taking her novels, this particular novel pulled together some of the threads I could only anticipate earlier.

Very fun! Probably my favorite in the series so far upon reread, which I'm sure is not unusual for this book. Though I loved getting to see more of Sookie and Eric together, I am a big fan of Eric's normal personality, so I'm looking forward to seeing him again in the upcoming books returned to his normal state.
