I liked this one because of the character development of Eric. Other than that it was slow plot wise. The world of Sookie Stackhouse continues to broaden and things continue to change. It's still an enjoyable read.

Story does great giving you a recap of some of the events in previous books, but not to where it feels repetitive. Just enough to make you go "ah, I remember". Some great mystery opens this novel, with a very prominent character seeming to be suffering from amnesia at the hands of another supernatural sort of being. This 4th installment already has some great humor mixed in. I love that it has made laugh multiple times before even reaching 50 pages. There is plenty of action, mystery and intrigue, plus some good spice to it that makes for a wonderful read. The author really knows how to pack a lot of story into a surprisingly short book.
Definitely my favorite of the series so far.
Definitely my favorite of the series so far.
As a sucker for Eric, this is my favorite Sookie book. The twist with Eric not remembering anything during his cursed time is way better than how they handled it in "True Blood".
I am thoroughly enjoying the Sookie Stackhouse books. My only problem with this one was that I read #5 before #4. Since I did that, I was a little impatient to find out things that I already knew were going to happen. I can't decide who I want Sookie to be with: Bill, Sam, or Alcide. All good choices in my book.
Decided to work my way through the Sookie Stackhouse series again, and have enjoyed it just as much as the first time I read them. I read the books first, then watched the TV series, which I also loved! I know that people either love or hate this series, I am on the love it side of the fence!
This is my favorite of the series thus far (at the time of this review, I'm starting book 7.) I would go so far as to say that it's pivotal in the series in that so many things happen that really, actually mean something. You will gain a new appreciation for Eric, realize that Sookie and Bill are going to have some serious problems in the future, spend time with witches, wiccans, Weres, shifters, faries vamps, bloodsuckers and sometimes characters that fall under multiple categories. It's difficult to write a character to be almost their polar opposite but in the case of AmnesiaEric, Harris has done an excellent job.
The story seemed to drag for quite awhile. In my opinion, not as good as the first three books.
I like the Sookie Stackhouse series and this is one of my favorites.
some of the plot turns seem silly and unnecessary but are needed to create drama in later books.
