This is probably my favorite book in the series. All that time with Eric (OK not quite Eric). But the action between them is never boring.
The author has a weird trick of introducing a problem, not doing much with it for the majority of the book, and then resolving it neatly towards the end of the book. I found the whole story with Jason throughout this book very distracting.
The parts with Eric, however, were lovely. the beginning was a bit annoying to me. I liked Eric the way he was, and didn't need him to be changed. Not sure how I feel about the introduction of witches and magic to the story either. I'd rather stick with "plain old" supes. but Harris developed the relationship with Sookie and Eric in a way that was almost unexpected. I still ended the book wanting more for him and Eric. I'm just glad Bill's finally on a back burner. He was getting BOORING and no good for Sookie. Glad they finally resolved Debbie too. Interesting to see what will happen with the other men in Sookie's life now. These books are like candy--fluffy, enjoyable, and easy to gulp down.

I was looking for some light reading, looking to try different things and stumbled across this in the library. Glad I did not buy the book. I don't know why I just did not like it. I was having a bad reading month in January 2007
