Best one yet. Tons of Eric, very little of Bill. Now if Sookie would just stop with the 'Word of the day' calendars, that would be be great.
Re-read because I'm bored and nothing new has grabbed my interest.
I love this book. I loved it the first time I read it, and I love it still. I also kind of hate it as well, because I've read this entire series and I know how it ends.

Jason goes missing and Sookie hooks up with a memory-less Eric who was put in that state by a money and power hungry witch. Fairies are introduced in a strange (to a tv show watcher) way - not associated with Sookie at all, but with those around her. The opposite of the maenad, she seems to make everyone around her silly happy. I was disappointed that Eric doesn't remember his time staying with Sookie once he gets his memory back, but it makes sense for the storyline, i guess.
I originally decided to read this because I was really disappointed with another book and wanted a short palette cleanser. I really disliked Club Dead, so I didn't expect to like this one but it caught me by surprise. It's more fun and more in line with what I'd thought the series would be; sexy vampires being sexy in the early 2000's.
It's not perfect, there's still some... problematic relationship elements but it goes from completely gross in Club Dead to forgivable in Dead to the World. Eric is much better as a romantic interest than Bill (who Sookie still misses despite him sexually assaulting her and being a shit boyfriend in general).
Eric's amnesia was actually interesting as it somewhat explores how different a person would be and Sookie actually liked him (he also genuinely cares).
I'm never going to love this series but I get it now.

I liked Eric vulnerable. Too bad he got his memory back.

Things I Liked:
1. Sookie managed to keep the sniffles to herself this book;
2. Bill was again absent for most of this book;
3. Eric became a decent person due to his memory loss; and
4. Fairies, witches, weres, & shifters were a big part of the plot
Cute. I felt it was quite an improvement over the previous books.
Book #4 was really good. I am not a paranormal reads fan but there is something about this series that sucks me in.
It's been some time since I've read one of these books and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed them. The best part of this, however, was Eric's lack of memory. He really was a completely different vampire and I kind of liked it.
