This was not great.
The romance? Very insta-love. They met and couldn't keep their hands off each other after that. The worst was their PDA and how cringe it was. It wasn't, "Awww they're cute." It was more of so inappropriate that it felt off and made everybody, including the reader, feel uncomfortable.

Jesse as a character was not fleshed out at all. We are told about his harsh demeanour and how he is the opposite of Scott but we never see it! So pray tell, how are we supposed to react when he acts all sweet and gentle with Crystal when we don't see any other side to him throughout the story?

The plotline? What? The concept is interesting but the execution was a hot mess in the sense that there wasn't one. What on earth was the result of all of it? That last scene where everyone was together made no sense. I still don't know how they're going to manage the farm hereon out.

The brothers hardly ever talk to each other. I think they only spoke twice, once in the beginning and again at the end. Huh? Why is this story relying on side characters to deliver messages between the two brothers? Also, did they find out about each other in another book? Because good golly, the info dumping in the beginning lacked quite a bit of finesse.

The suspense? Non-existent. It was all done via rose coloured tinted glasses very Hallmark-like.

DNF - 13% and it took me picking up and putting this down 3 times to get this far.
MMC is annoying AF. FMC supposedly has a PhD. But says her own best characteristics are her boobs. What ? And animals, ugh.

What a great start to a new series. This story was a page turner that kept me interested from the beginning to the end. Can’t wait to read the rest.

Very interesting concept, quite steamy. I found it jumped in a little too quickly, I would’ve liked to see the lead up to the switch. Instead we first meet Jesse already acting as Scott and then he fills us in as why.

I felt as though there was almost too much going on, but I couldn’t put it down because I demanded answers.

Definitely not a slow burn - lust at first sight turned to “love”.

Will most likely read the sequel as I need to know how things play out.

Strictly Business is book one in the newest series The Switch by Ruth Cardello.

Identical twins separated at birth and both adopted to diametrically opposite families. They find each other through a complete fluke and now when one twin is threatened they decide to switch places. What was only supposed to be a couple of days playing his brother Scott has now become more complicated. Jessie was there for strictly business, get the proposal and tell whomever the oil company sent the answer is no, they aren't selling the farm. Things go wrong from the moment Crystal steps out of the car. She was definitely not what he was expecting. He's instantly attracted to her, but he's dealt with beautiful people before.
Crystal is only doing this as a favor to her uncle. Yet when she meets Scott he's different than she expected. And when she realizes there is more to the farm than she expects her heart melts a little. But when things get heated out could spell the end of her attraction. Yet maybe things are more than they seem and her orderly life is about to get more interesting.

Spicy!

"We hardly know each other. How is it possible that this feels right?"

What a fun and engaging story. This book is so underrated but I will not be surprised if it takes off and becomes the next Booktok read. There is so much going on involving business, a switch, a hidden secret that is in the bridge of exposing a great discovery.

As I was reading this story, I felt like the book cover didn't really match the story but then as the story progressed I feel like it finally did, it was always a business. Lately, I have come across tons of romance books that are unrealistic in the slow-burn trope but this one kept it real and made me whole experience much better, though I felt the ending was rushed as if the author was running out of time, I enjoyed the back and forth between Jesse and Crystal.

Everything was perfectly timed, the details included felt like it suited both Jesse and Crystal because they wanted to give the relationship a try and were honest about it the entire time which I could relate to. The jokes had me cracking up and so much spicy between them both!!! Listen those blindfolds fit perfectly in the story.

Thankful for this Goodreads giveaway because I enjoyed it sooo much.

Mistaken identity? Twins switching? Yes please. This was a great read. Small town romance with mistaken identity if twins and thinking deceit. This was a cute read with lovely characters from the people to even the animals!

I received this ARC through #netgalley and I am voluntarily reviewing this book.

good story, bad narration.

The narrator’s sounded wayyyy too old for the characters. I couldn’t listen to it, it was too cringy for me.

The story itself was short and sweet. Slow burn romance with a twin twist.

Read it, don’t listen to it.
