Epic. Perfect. Wonderous.

It's been a while since I have been that in love with a book from start to finish, that I read it slowly so I can savour each word. But that is what I did with Clipped Wings.

I love the depth of character to Hayden and Tenley, and the whole cast of secondary characters. I'm so excited that we don't know yet what makes them fully tick, and that there is more to be discovered in Inked Armor.

The romance, and build to it between Hayden and Tenley is perfect in description, and development.

I love how blunt Hayden is and every glimpse into his character.

Can't wait for more...and to re-read it again soon.

Tenley and Hayden as characters were just heartbreaking, and learning the bits and pieces of their stories throughout this book just broke my heart. Both of these characters carried guilt with them and both of them had made poor decisions because of it. It was like looking at two sides of the same coin with these characters and that's what made them so perfect for each other. This book definitely got me wrapped up emotionally and it made it really difficult that the book ended on such a cliffhanger. It was so killer and I'm so glad I was able to move right on to the next book. 4 out of 5 stars for such a gut-wrencher.

I'm finding this whole thing incredibly boring. ~60% in and IDGAF. DNF.

Well, warning there is a cliff hanger. I really enjoyed the more emotional read that this book is compared to Helena's other books. I connected with the characters easily and I love the storyline.

4 stars. It took me a while to get into this story. I think it was just difficult to get attached to the characters when they kept refusing to accept what was happening. Once the story picked up though, I really enjoyed Hayden and Tenley and I'm looking forward to the next one.

2.5 stars because she actually bothered to remove some of the more ridiculous tropes from the fanfic version. But oh vey the long psychoanalysis diatribes from the lead characters. They are SO SUPER self-aware, but make these insane decisions. And the end came out of nowhere.

First off - if you are thinking to read this series, the first two books are required to be read in order and the first ends in a cliff hanger! So be sure to have both of them when reading!

I headed back into the backlist to pick up this book and the writing amazing. Tenley and Hayden are both these incredibly broken characters. They have been through so much in their lives and are hiding deep secrets of their own, feeling undeserving of love. I felt so many emotions while I was reading this book and really hoped that both characters would discover their self worth and feelings of deserving to be loved. There were lots of subplots going on this book, especially related to Tenley and Hayden's pasts, I felt like I moved from one emotional rollercoaster, to another. It was rough.

I really liked that Helena Hunting took us deep into the world of tattooing and piercing and also showed that just because a person is tattooed or pierced, they are not deviants. Tattooing was a huge part of who Hayden was and the exploration of getting a tattoo as catharsis and healing was very powerful.

I did find that Tenley was her own worst enemy at times. She was dealing with these big things, but her lack of self worth felt very "rich girl" at times. I understood some of where she was coming from, but other times I just shook my head.

Overall, I liked the book and immediately picked up the next in the series to finish off the cliffhanger and find out what happened to Tenley and Hayden!
