Would probably rate this book a 4.25 if the option were available. Really enjoyed this book. Very similar parallels to A Song of Ice and Fire with regard to the interweaving of multiple ensemble character story lines.

So good! Wild that I waited to read this as long as I did... I really enjoyed it -I enjoy everything Michael J. Sullivan writes and while I was nervous I would try and compare this setting to the others I happily realized that they don't have any real connection outside of it happening in the same universe.

I have found myself enamored with the Fantasy genre over the last year and this book is yet another one of my favorites.
This is the first book I’ve read from Author Michael J. Sullivan so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but after reading a few reviews I was looking forward to it.
It didn’t disappoint.
Within a few pages I was hooked. Between the main storylines there was only one character I didn’t really care for but that was in the early chapters. Outside of that this is epic fantasy done right. I found the pacing faster than what I’m used to but I liked it. I’m really looking forward to reading Age of Swords next.
