So, I had high expectations for this book especially after the first one. I found that this one relied too much on the spicy and didn't develop the plot very much until the last few chapters. I didn't hate the book, but I don't think I would be chasing to read it again. I hope the third book makes up for this one.

A big mix for this series and how the author writes.

There is no major world build.  Some things are rushed, and others drawn out when it comes to details/world information.

The spicy sex scenes are..meh.  there's a lot of them, but honestly I began to skim as most of them felt repetitive  and lacking any reason or attachment.  Also I think that Isodel would need to be a contortist.

The flashbacks are handled with poor writing technique- several times I needed to go back and reread as there was no transition into or out of the flashbacks.  Also not enough is given about Adrian's curse.  Also, in the 2nd book why is his perspective given on like 5 chapters?

I don't understand why a 26 year old woman would need to slap her partner, thru a hissy fit and then hope he comes around to apologise to her with sex?

I'm curious what will happen in the story, but the series will likely be a DNF for me.

I was just taking forever to get into it. I’ll definitely come back to it, but I just need time away.

The main female character is so frustrating. I can't get myself to read the next book in hades x persephone for the same reason.

Verdict: Read!!! Especially if you’re a paranormal romance fan.

The second installation in St. Clair’s Adrian x Isolde series follows Isolde as she navigates palace politics and threats to her home. If you like paranormal romance, fantasy, or spicy reads, you will definitely like this book! With great dialogue and pacing to boot, this is definitely a book you’ll end up binging.

Thanks to Sourcebooks for the preview!

Almost DNF so many times. Pushed though, wouldn't recommend. Possibly from long gap between books but this was boring

I have no idea what just happened in this book. So many twists it was hard to understand what actually happened. Am I going to read the next one? Most likely.
