Very close to giving this 2. Too much going on, a bit of chaos and random bits that either didn't serve the story at all or enough. Couldn't read the last third.

These are not the same characters from book 1. I refuse to believe it. Did the author just forget their personalities during the writing break?

I cannot get over how much I loved this book. Isolde is a badass and the way she could bring Adrian to his knees... Scarlett has a way of making her FMC strong, intelligent, powerful women.
If you love enemies to lovers, vampires, strong FMC, morally grey, touch her and die MMC, this is a book for you!

2.5 rounded up to 3 stars. This book really didn’t do it for me. I can tell that the author really attempted to give a good backstory for the main characters, but the plot was so discombobulated in a way that made it feel as if the editor had just been lazy. The spice was appreciated, but at the end of the day, if all a book has is good spice but a disconnected plot, it’s not a good read. I’m interested to see if this series will get better as the author finishes it. I’ll look out for the following book and give it a shot.

This book definitely suffers from second book syndrome. It also didn’t have the pull that the first one had and I felt myself getting bored and restless. All the two mc’s did was fight, have sex, and then be totally fine for another chapter until they repeated the cycle over

This was definitely not my favorite book by Scarlett St. Clair.

The story picks up right where the last book left off, with Isolde dealing with the fallout of killing her father—and almost immediately, I found her insufferable. Every decision she made frustrated me to no end. Adrian wasn’t much better with all his secret-keeping. For the first half of the book, I was convinced he was going to end up being the villain, until I started getting weird vibes from Anna instead.

I do really enjoy the overall story and where it’s headed, but this book dragged. I kept finding myself just wanting to be done with it. The ending wasn’t super shocking, and I was pretty frustrated that the next book is already set up to start with more secrets.

All that to say, I’m still going to keep reading the series—because I have to know how this all plays out.

why is the author trying to fix the plot with so much smut?? it is so unnecessary lol ..

honestly she was barely walking because she got hurt, YET they managed to fuck... that’s beyond me..

2 stars to the traitor, I wish you killed them so this nonsense would just end.

I had to really force myself to finish this book. The first half was so repetitive and nothing of importance happened until the 75% mark. I didn't really care for any of the characters anymore. Of course this book left off at a cliff hanger too, but I just don't care. Unless the next book gets stellar reviews, I won't be reading.
