Another amazing book by Scarlett St. Clair! Queen of Myth and Monsters solidified why Isolde is one of my all time favorite female book characters!
Picking up where King of Battle and Blood left off, we are following Isolde as she discovers who she really is, or was. Not only that, but she is still dealing with the betrayal of her father and her people. She’s married to Adrian, the Blood King and the most powerful being alive. Their enemies will do whatever it takes to end him, so they’re going after the one person he cares about most, Isolde.
Not only are Adrian and Isolde dealing with outside forces trying to tear them apart, but they’re dealing with a traitor in their inner circle…and let me tell you, my jaw was on the floor when it was revealed who had betrayed them. Then there’s the goddess Dis, Adrian’s creator, who sees Isolde as a threat. But even in the face of all the betrayal and threats, Isolde is still a QUEEN, and she’s on a mission, not just to free the people of her mother’s homeland, but to seek revenge on those who have wronged her.
This book made me feel so many emotions. Their relationship was put to the test so many times. Oh, and I cried a time or two. There were so many twists and turns, and I wasn’t sure where the book was going to go next. And that ending…I was not ready for that huge revelation! I loved the character development though, for some more than others of course.
I can’t wait for the next book in the Adrian and Isolde saga!

I'll admit that I wasn't a fan of the first one. This one had big potential but I felt the plot was rushed in some places (suddenly can use her powers) and slow in others. I didn't see the plot twist that happened in the end but I'll blame that on low-key rooting against Adrian and Isolde. I was really waiting for something really redeeming to come out so I could at least give some of their terrible deeds a pass, but alas.

This book was a weird and random ride but at no point did I know what was going to occur next (not referring to Adrian x Isolde’s circular relationship pattern which does make up a significant amount of the book)

I really liked the first book and liked where the plot and world building was going in this one, but I could not stand Isolde in this book. She made every situation about her and made everything so difficult for Adrian. Like girl is this really the hill you wanna die on?

Too much happened while nothing happened at all. It's kind of hard to explain,.
I decided I was finished wasting my time on this book near the middle.
The character development was lacking. The storyline was frantic. Just an overall terribly written book.
Not worth my time.

Scarlett, you're so rude for making me have all the feels! So many that idk what to feel first. Let me just say this is an exceptional book and I cannot wait to read the next one.
As a reader this is everything I want in a book. Rich, deep characters that I feel are real, great background and world building that also isn't bogged down and gets boring. Excellent suspense, thrills, emotions, even playful and funny scenes.
Ahhh I'm so excited for the next adventure!

I love Scarlett St. Clair as a writer and I don't mind this story, I like the plot, but there was some lacking to the book. I felt like the characters kept running in circles with the same issues. We fight, we have sex, we fighter, we have sex.
I like a good spice to my book but I don't want the entire book to be that. So much more could have been done with the story but we just couldn't get quiet there unfortunately. When we get through the couple fighting and sex there is a little interesting story at the very end that is actually pretty good.
I thought that Isolde and her witch gang starting to practice magic and get that ball rolling was going to be phenomenal but boom no its squashed out. One of my biggest issues with this series is not seeing anything through. Islode is beat to an inch of her life, the chapter ends, and she wakes up the next day fine. Like, what the hell happened that made her better, how did Adrian react, who found them. I NEED INFORMATION.
The ending was good and left us on a big cliff hanger, there is promise and maybe with more time we can see something really great come out of the next book. I have hope.
