Thanks Edelweiss for giving me an ARC of this book in return for an honest review!

I wanted to love this book so badly after the first one. It became clear early on that the author had no clue what was really going to happen in this book and even the rest of the series.

I know your main character has to be special in some sort of way or they wouldn't be the main character - but there is a point where it's TOO much. This is the case with Isolde in this book. She can't just be a human witch any longer. Now she has to be a witch, shifter, and a vampire but essentially also the alpha of the wolf pack. It's to the point where I no longer care about Isolde. She's annoying and I kind of hope she dies just so she's back to being more relatable as a character.

Adrian's chapters in this are few and honestly almost pointless. I wish they had been more involved and played more into the story because I love Adrian as a morally gray character.

DID NOT FINISH: 30%

I had to return it; I didn't put it back on my list again to finish because it is an uncompleted series and I plan to come back to it right before new books will be released so it is fresher on my mind.

This book is Scarlett St. Clair at her best, and if you haven’t picked up book one, I implore you to so that you can read this epic gem of a sequel before the amazing finish we’re sure to get in book three. This book has me questioning characters and morals and motives left and right, including those of our main characters, in the best way, and as much as I thought I had at least something about everyone pegged, let me tell you. I did not. The last 50 pages or so, I could not stop turning the pages and had to force myself to slow down and stop skimming so I could see what would happen next. I will warn you this: when you read this book, be ready for some devastation, done in the best way

These books would actually be good if Adrian was not insufferable

Not as good as the first book. I like Adrian's POV way more than Isoldes.
