What can I say about Peter Pan? This story is SO precious to me and I’m doing one of my master’s projects all about it. This reread has solidified it as my favorite classic (over “lord of the flies”).

Peter Pan was always one of those books I figured I'd "get to eventually" but figured I would love once I finally read it - and I wasn't wrong.
This was GREAT. It was a mix of wicked deep and kinda like "woah" but also just very entertaining and enjoyable. Peter is an absolute ASSHOLE and I adored him.
I may add to this later and put some of my fave quotes but not rn

Honestly i was a big fan of the titular Disney movie, i've read it for the first time at 15 and my first reaction was wow, for a children's book this is dark af
This book was beautiful! It is a fast read that both makes you recognize the necessity of growing up, but in the very last chapter makes you regret it all the same. I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected and will be reading this again.

No clue why I've waited this long but happy to cross another classic off the list!

I thought it would be fun to read this since i've loved multiple adaptations of the story. It was interesting to read the original story and see how it's been changed over the years. I was a bit surprised at the violence in the story, well...maybe not surprised, i know a lot of older children's stories are pretty grim. but i still had to re-read the line that seemed to allude to peter pan killing off lost boys if they start growing up.

This book is pretty creepy, to be honest. This guy shows up in the middle of the night, takes children with him and demands the little girl become the mother to he and his friends... When she decides she wants to go home, he locks her window so she can't return home, and only reluctantly let's her go back to her heartbroken parents when he sees how torn up the mother is about losing her three children...
