In reflecting on this book there are three words that come to mind. Unique, beautiful, and sad. You can see how this author’s history reflects in this novel. There is a bittersweet message that all must move forward in life even when we are desperate to hang on to the past.

I always loved the Disney live action movie growing (who doesn't love Jeremy Sumpter?) but the book was even better. Not only is the story magical, but there's something enchanting about the way the author writes. The adventures and world in the book are perfect for adults and kids alike and the themes of loyalty, friendship, and what growing up means are woven very well throughout the story. I cannot wait until my kids are old enough for me to read this aloud to them!

I originally bought this only wanting to read Peter Pan, not realising there was another story in this edition. I've decided not to read the other, so I'm calling this book finished.
It was not as good as i hoped it would be. I loved almost all the different movies as a kid, but the book just doesn't really do it for me. I think this is the only time i will say that the book is worse than the adaptation.

I tried reading this book ages ago, but at the time my English was nowhere near good enough to understand an old book like this. This month I decided to try reading it once more and I am ever so glad I did! Peter Pan is a wonderful tale about what it means to be a child, yet it can also be interpreted in a lot of other ways. However, one does not need to analyse this book to enjoy it as the story was incredibly enjoyable!

The stage play resembles the book much more accurately than the movie.

I've been wanting to read [b: Peter Pan|34268|Peter Pan|J.M. Barrie|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1337714526s/34268.jpg|1358908] for quite a while now. I've come to realize that there are many children's books that I'm aware of and know the story, but have never actually read the original work and I'm working on rectifying that. I love comparing the original to any retellings or different formats of the same work. I've found that by reading the annotated version of these books I get incredibly distracted by marginalia, but that I love all the extra information! I loved that this version included a short biography of the author as I became fascinated with his life through researching the book. This annotated version was padded with quite a bit of extra information, such as the biography, as well as pages of the original artwork and information on [b: Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens|2643052|Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens|J.M. Barrie|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1348449424s/2643052.jpg|7152165], the first Peter Pan story. Overall, I enjoyed the story (even though parts of it are definitely racist by today's standards), but this particular edition had a lot of extraneous fluff.
