Having team SSSN join team CFVY in Vacuo was a an interesting mix of character traits. Then watching all the Beacon orphans cope really got to me. There was an excellent building up of what was to come from Vol 7-8 all while still feeling very in the dark about what was happening on the other side of the world. Still a great companion piece to the series.

I'm very excited to see how the crown helps Salem. With Vol 9.5 showing Mercury freeing them, i'm glad to have the context from this book.

Enjoyability 10/10, actual story and writing isn’t quite as high but I don’t think anyone reads this quality literature. I highly recommend to any RWBY fans.

Fun addition to the rwbyverse! Think Sun's "redemption" was a bit unearned and not explored in as much depth as I would have wanted but Myers balances it out with great action AND better CVFY goodness.

A nice enough story expanding on the world of RWBY nicely, giving more details to some of the less noteworthy characters of the series, and expanding on the lore of the world

I really liked this book. I liked hearing about what team CFVY and team SSSN were doing. My main problem was just that I really didn’t like Sun’s point of view. But I do feel like I got to know some of the other characters a bit better as well.

E.C. once again provides a great tie-in to the show, providing more good character interactions
/insights we haven’t gotten to see before and expertly handling a vast array of characters in multiple points of view!

This is a great continuation of the first book and the world building- really enjoyed the moments with Sun and his team!

this definitely felt more like it was a volume of rwby than after the fall did and that definitely contributed to my enjoyment of the book. also,
justice for sage who got no pov chapters, the only one of the main 8 to not have one
