A cute and sweet follow-up to Stepping Stones, proving that middle-schoolers really are the worst. Despite that, I look forward to the next book!

Jen is starting to go to school AND has a new weekend job at her neighbor’s farm. Her job was okay, she’s doing it with Andy, but there’s the farmer’s nephew—Eddie, who stole Andy’s attention. Her school, on the other hand, she immediately spotted by a mean girl named Summer on her first bus ride to school and Summer is determined to bother her. On top of everything, it seems like everyone around her were in love and she felt confused and alone among them.

More new characters being introduced, so this book isn’t solely focused on the Peapod family anymore. It’s still adorable and wholesome and I am obsessed with the facial expressions. Now I’m excited to read the upcoming 3rd book!

There was less Walter in this one, so that was nice, but he was still a jerk. This one was a lot more friendship-focused, rather than on family in the first one.

I liked this more than the first one but maybe because the mom’s boyfriend was in it less! I love fall and this created a beautiful fall atmosphere while dealing with topics that are relevant all year round. Great for kids who want something fall and Halloween related without being scared
