apparently, nicholas sparks is not for me.
the writing style itself was not bad compared to some of the more contemporary romances, i could not say the same for the plot: the structure is weird and confusing and the story drags and drags and nothing really happens . . i had a feeling this was a dnf about one chapter in, but I waited around to give it another chance, but my instincts did not disappoint and I dnf-ed at about 30%.
honestly if you want to read a romance, there are so many other better romances that are more entertaining and well-written in terms of structure and plot to choose from, not to mention classics of the english language. and as cliché as it to hate on a popular thing, I genuinely do not understand why the notebook would be loved by so many readers

It was a cute book. It was kind of slow at parts but their love story at the end does make you tear up. I just didn't like that at the end they have sex? Like is that what happened? It was unclear and honestly felt off for me.
This book was sweet:) I am glad that Noah and Allie got married and grew old together. Just the ending i wanted!!!!
