I want all my kids to read these in case they get dropped in the woods and need to survive. Gary Paulsen has created such an adventurous and exciting series.
I preferred the first two to this one. Just didn't have the extra .... pizzazz they did .

Not my favorite out if the series thus far but definitely an interesting read that I couldn't put down

Gary Paulsen returns to the original story to imagine what would happen if Brian wasn’t rescued before Winter. Enjoyed it! It has one of the best skunks in all of literature, easily.
I wish this was the true sequel as opposed to The River. While this was a "what-if" story, this book had the same feel that Hatchet did and I really enjoyed it. I just constantly rooted for Brian and loved watching him succeed. It's almost a disappointment to see him be rescued because he is so resourceful and knowledgeable about living in the woods, which makes it such a fun read. Overall, another quick read that made me want to take a camping trip haha

The language for this book is so much better than Hatchet or even The River. However for me, the story wasn't as good as Hatchet.
I'm glad the language has changed and is more 'normal', because the previous two books gave me headaches. Storywise, this series is interesting. I would have loved these books when I was younger, as they are aimed at children. Still fun to read though.
