I absolutely love Ken Follet. He is great at character development and i love that he writes his stories based back in WWI/WWII time frame. This is an exceptional read and i can't wait for the last book to be released!

Very good book. I'm really enjoying this trilogy so far.

While I wasn't as invested in these characters as the first book, the war was the real star. I found myself frightened at time because some of the chapters echo what's going on in todays world. I'm looking forward to the next book.

A wonderful sequel to Fall of Giants. It follows the same five families through the beginning of the Nazi rise in Germany, WW2 and the splitting of Germany. I enjoyed it more as it shows what the families went through rather than a general outlook on WW2 and how they coped with their countries reactions to the political situations at that time.

Very readable but with lots of unnecessary sex.

Great second instalment...as always Follett does a great job with the historical timelines and draws the reader along with the story and characters. From pre-war Berlin to the Fascist movement in Britain, the Spanish civil war and Pearl Harbour, the evolution of communism in Russia and the early days of the Cold War and a divided Germany, Follett brings these important historical events to life. Looking forward to reading the third chapter!
