This was an average book. It is easy to read and entertaining. There is lots of action and short chapters that make it easy to get sucked in to the story. The end does leave a big cliffhanger, so be prepared to read multiple books if you want all your questions answered.

Sam works for the CIA. One morning his pregnant wife phones him and tells him to get out of the building immediately before an explosion rips it apart. Now she's missing and he's the CIA's number one suspect, all the while desperate to find his wife and child.

This is a VERY fast paced thriller. It's lucky that it is, because the breakneck pace allows you to (mostly) ignore the often ludicrous plot twists, paper thin characters and many plot holes. It tears along at 100 miles per hour - in the first 50 pages alone, the building is blown up, Sam is arrested, tortured, held for some weeks and then released.

If you want a fast and occasionally dead exciting, can't-put-down read, this is not a bad choice. It's literary junk food, disengage your mind time. I don't mean that in a judgmental way - sometimes we all feel in the mood for something like that. It's like going to a Michael Bay movie. However there's nothing memorable here and I'm not quite sure how it made it into Amazon's "best of July" selection.

I couldn't actually finish this one. It was decent ,but maybe too formulaic?

Amazing, non-stop thriller. Sam Capra is a great character and great hero. I can't wait to see where it goes.

What a fun read! Right from the beginning I was hooked and I loved how fast-paced it was. It definitely didn't feel like the book was over 500 pages long as it was such fun to read.

Sam and his pregnant wife Lucy work for the CIA based in London. Everything is great until Lucy calls him at work one day asking him to step outside...and then his entire office blows up killing all of his friends/coworkers. After this, the CIA thinks Sam is a traitor and yeah it was interesting. He is trying to clear his name and figure out what really happened, to find his wife and child, to help another woman who has been kidnapped along the way. It was a fun read. Yes, a few things were obvious early on, but I enjoyed it so much I didn't care. Now off to read the next one and see what happens next!

It's a quick, fun CIA mystery novel. I was annoyed at certain points though because the author either didn't bother with some basic research or just made dumb changes and falls into cliches.

First, there are the silencers - they don't actually silence the sound, people! Second, a stupid representation of how nanotechnology and DNA works. Third, a single guy fighting large groups of people or shooting large numbers of people and coming out relatively unscathed. Fourth, the obsession with Parkour as the secret to this protagonist's success. Fifth, how easily this mostly office rat slides into the role of killing machine.

The idea I really like is how networks of people - criminal or otherwise - form and dissolve fluidly for specific purposes.
