I was led to this collection by seeing quotes from it in another book. Those excerpts struck me so deeply that I knew I had to read the full thing.
What a beautiful potification on life. You don't have to be an artist or poet to take wisdom from the words Rilke wrote here, and I would recommend it to almost anyone.

Live the questions indeed.

“You must think that something is happening with you, that life has not forgotten you, that it holds you in its hand; it will not let you fall” is what the early 20’s version of myself needed to hear.

I’ve thought about writing more and sharing my work time and time again but always talked myself out of doing so. Reading this book came at just the right time for me.

Rilke emphasized patience. In solitude, the future is inside of you as a quiet seed, and the only thing you must do is give it time to grow. Sometimes, by giving things space, they grow in ways that align more deeply with where we're meant to go, rather than where our immediate desires want to take us.

As someone who have been trying to write her whole life, this book feel like a warm hug. Guiding me and telling me everything will be okay.

Either he is a feminist or I missed the point of his letters. The contemplations on solitude and sitting in stillness are in my opinion so similar to the key principles of modern psychiatry and meditation self-help practices. Some excellent life philosophy as well, and meditations on faith and religion.
