Unfortunately, this didn't quite hit the spot for me. The strongest parts of ALL THE DEAD LIE DOWN were the beginning and the end; the middle lost me a fair bit, hence the three-star rating.
My favourite character was probably Evie, our sapphic perfectionist with a dark secret. She was perhaps the only compelling character. The rest fell into stereotypical roles. Unfortunately, our protagonist, Marin, fell very flat for me and was just not enticing as the main character.
I enjoyed the Lovelace estate and the creepy house with haunted grounds and long family history, but I felt that the author didn't quite hit the atmospheric mark, which for these types of novels is a must.
Despite all that, this was a quick and enjoyable paranormal mystery with an f/f romance that explores themes of grief and family. Just wasn't a five-star book for me.

Atmospheric gothic tale that is reminiscent of Starling House and House of Salt & Sorrows.
After the death of her mother Marian becomes the nanny for her mom’s long lost best friends children. However all is not what it seems as Marian explores this eerie place, and delves deeper into the families secrets.
Extremely well written and captivating. I especially loved the metaphors, foreshadowing and overall gothic vibe. If you liked Starling House this is a must read.

as a lover of haunting of bly manor and all things haunting, this was a warm welcome
i actually loved this one even though ive never read anything like this one before
the story was intriguing and the characters too but i also didn’t get too attached to anyone or anything
it flowed easily and now i wanna rewatch everything haunting and horror
