This one didn’t wow me, although I enjoyed it. It’s unlikely I’ll remember much about this one in a month 😆

Photographer Tate is assigned to live on a ranch for a few weeks in advance of a book/TV collaboration (I think, the reasoning wasn’t super clear to me), and discovers that the ranch actually belongs to her estranged father and his family. She meets ranch manager Henry, who’s skeptical of her intentions onsite.

Despite being framed as enemies to lovers, it’s a very quick jump to flirtatious & then fooling around, although they don’t technically get together until later in the book. The spice is frequent and I would have skimmed had I been able to 🫠 I just didn’t really buy it. Also, Tate brought up the similarities between her own story with her ex husband (she was so desperate for family and his was so close, they stuck it out longer than they should have) and Henry (he loved the Logan family so much and she was part of that, so being with her would connect him to them forever) — I thought it was a really self-aware parallel and he didn’t really give any credence to the thought.

Also the step-sibling “bomb” was so weird and unnecessary.

I really enjoyed this book, I had read a few of Tarah's other books and really liked them so I gave this one a go. The book opens with Tait having gone through a divorce and trying to come to terms with it. We move three years ahead and she receives a job offer back at her estranged family's ranch in Idaho. Tait and her sister never really had contact with their dad for about 20 years so she is very hesitant to go.

When she arrives in Idaho Tait meets Henry, who has worked and lived at the ranch since he was 15. I had a feeling the reason for the estrangement between Tait and her family might not have been what she thought, since the welcome she received was warm. I really loved that even though they were attracted to each other from the beginning Henry and Tait spent time becoming friends and talking about their lives.

We eventually learn about why Tait's dad stayed away, and I found it a bit heartbreaking. After that the healing could begin though. Once Tait and Henry give in to their feelings things get spicy, and Henry has that dirty talk down! Overall, the book was good and I'll continue to read more from Tarah.

4/5 on the Spicy Scale

Contemporary

Tait and Ava, sisters, are estranged from their father’s side of the family when Tait gets an invitation to photograph their families farm. Due to her low bank account balance she accepts and finds out all sorts of things including a love and friendship with Henry.  I was not expecting the twist at the end so that was fun.

This is the first book by Tarah that I have read and wow, I was gripped from the start. There are so many twists some of which I did not see coming including the huge twist at the end that had me in tears. Dual POV, Fast paced, with drama, romance, family troubles and finding ones self. Would love a second book maybe from a different characters POV.

This book was an OK read from this author. Not her best book but alright. I would recommend her other books in the Sprunes series. The MMC was annoying and weirdly protective of people who were not his family. The country references were corny. Wouldn’t recommend but helped me reach my reading goal.

Man, Tarah DeWitt brings it! I mean, I don’t think I’ll ever love anything as much as I love Savor It, but this is close. Basically Tait is a photographer who gets hired to go photograph her estranged family’s ranch in Idaho where she meets the super hot Viking-Ranch hand. You got Tait, a lovely FMC who’s obvi been hurt before and Henry, a 6’6” mountain of a man who is grumpy except when he’s around her(🫠).
This one is cute. The drama between the two feels a little manufactured, but I didn’t mind.
It was good!
