Man, Tarah DeWitt brings it! I mean, I don’t think I’ll ever love anything as much as I love Savor It, but this is close. Basically Tait is a photographer who gets hired to go photograph her estranged family’s ranch in Idaho where she meets the super hot Viking-Ranch hand. You got Tait, a lovely FMC who’s obvi been hurt before and Henry, a 6’6” mountain of a man who is grumpy except when he’s around her(🫠).
This one is cute. The drama between the two feels a little manufactured, but I didn’t mind.
It was good!

"All love, at some point, is always going to be devastating, isn’t it? We all just choose to be brave, to go after what we want, who we want… even if it means potentially losing a piece of ourselves. Even when it means being intensely vulnerable. I chose to let in my family, to let in friends again, to let in Henry."
Rootbound came heavily recommended from ALL of my friends who read and loved it to bits, I was super late to the party but I am glad I finally picked it up. First of all I want to acknowledge that this is a debut book by the author and second of all I want to applaud the author for putting out such a strong debut. The major plus to the book is Tarah's fantastic writing, it is not heavy but didn't miss the mark when it comes to bringing out about every emotion from within, there were moments you would laugh out loud and then there were moments where you will be quiet and pensive as you take in the story
Rootbound is packed to brim with a lot, it is a story of an estranged daughter struggling to lay down her roots after a devastating turn of life events, a story of a guilt ridden man paying penance, a story of two brothers to whom love was complicated and full of heart break, a story of two sisters living with the consequences of this tangled love AND so much more. In a few words it is all about reconnecting yourself to a place once you called home and with the people once were your family while striving to forgive yourself as you pick back up all the pieces of your broken heart. Another thing I liked about the story is that there no actual villain in it, the anti hero here is just the life as we make it as we navigate its good, bad and messy parts
The only thing I wished for is a little bit slower development of Romance between MC's, don't get me wrong Henry Marcum Marcus is epitome of patience and a cinnamon roll that needs to be protected and he is the missing piece of Puzzle Tait has been searching since forever. While their chemistry is incredible, I just wanted it to unfold slowly but it is completely my personal preference because Insta attraction is not for me, that being said this might not look like it but it is a steamy and crass romance with full of angst and witty banter.
Tarah had something for everyone to take away from this book whatever part you might be navigating life right now.Honorable mention about all the music mentioned in the book to fill you soul and the bad ass Grandma Em, I want to be her when I grow up!
I'd recommend this book to anyone who loved Simple Wild, All Rhodes Lead Here or love & Olives. It is also on KU which is an added bonus!
TW- Divorce, Estrangement, Grief and parental loss

It just all seemed so far fetched. The story line of photos but then that pretty much is never discussed again. I didn’t like any of the characters. The ending couple lines…..
fast-paced
everything about it was perfect and I don't even like Idaho...
⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a cute and cosy country romance with those small town feels and lots of family dynamics involved. I’d definitely recommend if you’re after something fun and fast with a cosy romance with spice!
