The plot was a bit of a mess and didn't need to take 9 months for eveything to go down, but I had so much fun reading this. The scenes with Mackie getting increasingly more baffled at what the heck was going on and why there were 4 debutantes in his custody were just pure gold.

Greer, Ana, and Ellie had made a pregnancy pact during their debutant year. Greer had lost her baby. Ana got pregnant by the senator. Ellie got pregnant by her sisters husband JD. Lily and Sawyer were sisters. The senator entered a plea deal for stealing the pearls.

this book was fun. I'm a sucker for a book about debutantes and mystery. the problem with this book was the mystery wasn't that intriguing nor was it interesting. it was rather predictable. let's talk about it.

this book follows a girl named Sawyer who enters an agreement with her grandmother she has never met until that moment who offers her money and a chance at a new life. she accepts and it rather interesting how she transitions to her life. she becomes a debutante and enters life with her cousin, lily and her friend Sadie Grace. she becomes entranced in the life with Campbell, and it becomes a larger plot. the bigger thing was she was wants to find out who her father was

this book is rather flat in terms of characters. every character seems defined to a few characteristics which was a problem that I had in the Naturals, like the side characters are so loosely developed and it's annoying. Sadie grace was the best friend of lily but she really doesn't get much attention except for her eventual relationship with Boone. Boone was the nerd, walker was the brooding dark character that was ~~misunderstood~~. bleh. her mom came at times to just talk about how her life was awful and she was ~~protecting her~~. I'm bored. I've heard this plot way too many times. anyway we read about the rich and having fancy dresses, and learn that Campbell wants to basically send her father to prison which is kind of dark. her father injured Nick's brother when he was drunk. she has this elaborate plot that involves him being exposed for being a cheater and getting caught by the police with the missing pearls.

this book involves the mystery of her father, I always thought it was J.D. like her being an Ames made no sense, and the fact that her mother, Greer, and ana had a pregnancy pact, and we find out that ana and Ames had a baby which again how is it not gross that senator Ames had a child with a minor... also, the fact that sawyer's mom had a baby with her sister's husband is even more messed up like these types of books are so weird because everyone is dating each other, and idk that's just weird. like that drives me crazy if everyone is related.

there was too much angst in the book and a lot of weird moments. like lily and Sadie grace kidnapping Campbell because she was going to leak lily's nudes and her website and stuff, walker being angsty and almost kissing Sawyer and him thinking that he hurt those people bc his father. it's so weird.

anyway this book isn't my favorite ,but it was hella entertaining, so it got that going for it. t
