Dear God, I think I died a couple of times reading this. Enchanting, heart-breaking, emotional and hopeful are a few of the words I would use to describe this. It was a rollercoaster of ALL THE FEELS but totally worth it.

I would let Nick and Bex break my heart many times over and out it back together.

This book definitely lived up to the hype. As a longtime fan of royal families in Europe, this fictionalized look at the British was incredibly fun. I loved the characters, including many of the supporting ones, and would love to keep reading more. As a blogger wrote, it is very much an adult chick lit: lots of language, sex, drinking, etc. But a great summer read for sure. It is a bit long but I couldn't find anything specific that I would cut. I'm giving it 5 stars because I'm still thinking about the characters and the story several days after I finished it and a re-read will be happening sometime soon! And I want the Freddie sequel!

Stories about royals are my absolute favorite! But then you mix in the normal American girl who falls in love with a Royal and I am 120% SOLD!!!

I loved this book and the characters so much!! I absolutely cannot wait for the sequel in 2020!!!

So I thought this book had to do with grammar and I had always put this book and Confessions of a Comma Queen together. So that's a little embarrassing. Also not sure why I didn't get the clue when the cover is a picture of two people kissing. I don't know. Needless to say, this book was just a shock, rather than a disappointment. I'm not going to go into too much detail for this review other than that it was kind of nice to relax with an elevated stereotypical YA love story. It was definitely better than the groan-worthy love at first sight, face some stupid troubles, realizes that they are perfect for each other. Yeah, there was some more nuance, a bit more of that realistic touch of the troubles that real couples face in the real world. Yet, that cheesy plot was still present. All the characters became familiar after 454 pages, yet none of them stood out to me. I felt no real connection other than the fact that they were specially written into the plot. Also-this emanates the actual UK William and Kate story-meeting in college, long relationship, breaking up, then coming back to each other (minus the drama in this book, of course). Plus, the bride having a sister and the prince having a younger brother-really? I'm not sure if this was totally a coincidence that happened just because there was a pre-written historical outline to follow, or if it was purposeful. Regardless, it lost a touch of authentic storytelling when it became a story repeated.

I will say though that this book gave me a different perspective on royal life. You are scrutinized to every inch of your person, but you still have to be perfect. It sucks, but what can you do?

4.25 maybe 4.5 bc i think about this book way too often

3.5 stars

just fun - but lots of trashy behavior

Well, now that was just a lot of fun. It was like Brain Candy. I don't even care that it was basically fan-fiction. It was a perfect kick-off for my spring break reading binge.

Okay, so I was torn with this book. I wasn't sure whether I was going to rate it 4 stars or 5 stars, so in the end I have settled on 4.5. I was in a huge reading slump before I read 'The Royal We' and I don't know why I chose this book specifically to get me out of it, but boy it did! The copy I had was a quite small, brick like one with like 600 pages because of how small it was, but I'm so glad that didn't put me off. I'd had my eye on this book for a while and I am so glad I read it! I have to admit, Bex did annoy me sometimes, and there were definitely times when I was screaming at the book, begging her not to do the thing I absolutely knew she was going to do, but what's a good book without any drama?

The Royal We is a solid book and I really enjoyed it, and am already 100 pages into the sequel!

This was a pretty cute book. The second half was better than the first half. Popsugar reading challenge: a book that started out as fan-fiction.

I don’t think there is anything inherently wrong with this book despite its excessive length. The glorification of the U.K.’s history definitely got on my nerves, but I understand that this is a romance novel from 2015. I also wasn’t a fan of most of the characters. That’s a totally personal thing though and I didn’t hate the book as a whole, so it has escaped a 1-star rating.
