Childgrave is nothing like Elizabeth or Hell Hound, but still worth a read. It’s not really scary because of what happens, but because of the main character’s reactions. Truly a stressful book with some memorable characters. Though there were some things that made me apprehensive in a non-horror way… like weird and misplaced sexual moments, the unfortunate stereotype of Nanny Joy, and some kinda complicated musings on things like gayness and abortion.

good plot but not scary or even creepy. i would have enjoyed it a lot more if the characters had more oomph, because they were all interesting if not a little flat. our narrative is an idiot and im not sure if we’re meant to see him that way? but i did laugh frequently so.
