I have read so many Jennifer L. Armentrout books this year it's ridiculous. But her books are addicting I can't help it!
Even though I ADORE her books I don't really like her prequels that much. They are good but not like her series. THEY ARE AMAZING.
In Bitter Sweet Love, we basically were informed about the characters and the world. I have to admit Dez was really cute but SERIOUSLY I NEED TO READ ZAYNE'S STORY RIGHT NOW! He looks awesome and we saw him in like 10 pages. I also really liked Layla. She looks really cool as well.
I'm super excited for this new series!

Great beginning to new series by one of my favorite authors. Love her Gargoyles and the characters we've been introduced to so far should make for some interesting reading in the next full length novel. I loved Dez but more than that I am intrigued with Layla and can't wait to see how she grows into her character and into a world that she's not welcomed and feared in.

I wish more romance books had the gall to do this: making the relationship the source of conflict and thus the over-arching plot of the narrative. How many times have I picked up a book toted for its romance and found myself dredging through plot to get to the next cute scene? I'm here for this energy.

I just knew that this would be a great read when I saw that it was about gargoyles and written by Jennifer L. Armentrout. And you don't understand how right I was. In this novella, the tone is set with a refreshing look into a brand new paranormal world. It gets readers ready for what to expect in White Hot Kiss.
What I liked most about this, is the fact that there is a different main character than the person who will be in WHK. This way we get more of a look into the world that has demons and those that hunt them. For example, what may have been important to Dez and Jasmine may not be as important to the main character in the next book.
As for the characters, Jasmine is your classic JLA female main character. Hard headed, stubborn, and in love. And of course, I LOVED her for this. She was strong and independent and knew exactly what she wanted. And of course it wouldn't be a JLA book if there wasn't a swoony boy in the mix. And that swoony boy is Dez. He is strong, very sexy, and someone who would do anything for his family and Jasmine. They made an amazing team together. He is trying to win her heart back and the task isn't easy.
Lastly, I loved that this novella, even with it being about someone else, set the stage for the main character of the next story. It even explains towards the beginning of why it is so important. And I must admit, it really made me interested as to why the events in that situation took place like that. I can't wait to see what happens.
