This short story blew me away! I could not get enough of Dez!! I was in love with him by the 10th page, he was so snarky and overall very charming. You couldn't help but fall in love with him.

I did not want the story to end at all, towards the end I took my time and tried to prolong the story, which hardly ever happens.
I totally recommend this story, it was an excellent little story and has me very exited to start on the series.

I do hope to see more of dez in the series, crossing my fingers

I am reading this after binging my way through the Harbinger series which I regret slightly because I wished I read the Dark Elements series first.

That being said I loved Jasmine and Dez's story so much!!!!!

Things you need to know before delving into this world:
- Alphas aka Angels created Gargoyles
- Gargoyles were created to be wardens- protectors of humans against demons
- Demons escaped from hell and nobody knows how or why

Ok, now that that's out of the way let's get into the good stuff, Jasmine and Dez were supposed to be mated according to Gargoyle tradition but Dez up and left for three years after the announcement and Jasmine has mourned and moved on (yikes) !

Dez is back now and sweet baby dinosaur is the chemistry between him and Jasmine freaking explosive. This book was a sweet and sinfully slow seduction that had me fanning myself with their mutual attraction!

Jasmine is the typical headstrong take no prisoners female and she makes Dez work to earn her trust and love. Dez is such a hot alpha gargoyle that I grew to crush on, if only for his determination to win Jas back.

One of my favorites scenes is Jasmine experiencing the outside world for the first time, her honest reactions to everything was so pure and real.

Enough of me fangirling, I am off to devour this series so see you for the next review which you can check on my blog: https://jessicareadsit.wordpress.com/

Pretty good. A bit lame excuse and reason for leaving though.

Bitter Sweet Love is the prequel of 'The Dark Elements' series written by Jennifer L Armentrout.

This prequel tells the story of Jasmine and Dez. How they fell in love and got engaged. Also it shows how they met the main characters of 'The Dark Elements'.

From the start there is alot of humour in this book. Especially Jasmine is very funny. Dez on the other hand is a little bit of a jerk in the beginning, but it grows on you.

The story takes place over the span of 1 week, which is not that much time. Still you get to know the characters well enough, without the story feeling too rushed.

Overall it was a fun addition to 'The Dark Elements'.

Great prequel. Sweet, longing, questioning, intense... I liked it a lot, and I wish it was longer (not a just a prequel, that is). It absolutely peaked my interest for White Hot Kiss.

I love Jennifer's way of making a young adult book sexy without being too explicit. It's not just "fade to black" or whatever, and I think that makes it more real in a way.
Who knew gargoyles could be hot? Not me. I'm a natural skeptic to things that I'm not used to (thankfully books are helping me get over that), but because this is Jennifer L. Armentrout we are talking about here, I knew I needed to read it. And of course I now think gargoyles are cool - even though I have to say that the Upper Lever demon, Roth (Ah, can't wait to get to know him in White Hot Kiss! Anyone who is the inspiration of Daemon Black has to be pretty awesome, right? My first impression is certainly telling me so), intrigues me even more. And he barely got 3 pages in this one. Can't believe I have to wait until march to get more of him...

I don't normally like short stories and novellas as a lot of them are typically underdeveloped and leave you wanting for more. However, I do love this short introduction to The Dark Elements series. Dez and Jas' story really tugged at my heartstrings. For such a short story, Jennifer Armentrout really did a great job wrapping it all up - I felt satisified and yet more intrigued with this whole new world. I was a bit hesitant about gargoyles and how they are going to be portrayed, but Armentrout pulled it off. It's a great teaser for what is yet to come in this series, particularly with Layla, Zayne, and Roth. I hope we see more of Jas and Dez and that they play major supporting roles in this series.
