Clean centers on Estela, a live-in maid in a wealthy home, whose voice is sharp, observant, and unflinchingly honest...almost too honest. Zerán does a great job showing how someone can be overlooked on the outside but full of complicated thoughts and feelings on the inside. It's unsettling but keeps you hooked for more. Sophie Hughes translated this book and did an amazing job capturing everything.

The ending caught me completely off guard. It was unexpected in both its direction and delivery. It felt like Zerán hit the gas, and I was left with more questions and answers. This isn’t a book for readers who need everything spelled out, but it is for those who appreciate layered storytelling, and biting social commentary on classism.

A good commentary on domestic labor but I found it depressing and I was left with no hope which I suppose is the point

Absolut en bra bok, gillade språket (men översättningen var mindre bra ibland) och handlingen men ingen av karaktärerna men fattar ju också att man inte ska tycka om dem. Vissa delar/scener kommer jag starkt minnas men generellt sett är boken inte jätteminnesvärd för mig även om boken var fängslande
