Book 1 in the Monsters trilogy and has to be read in order. 

Follows Kirill and Sasha from the Maria universe. They’re both introduced in the Throne duet.

This one features all the go to mafia tropes with a hint of secret identity and forbidden/taboo. 

Lots of action but not much spice till about 60%. Definitely a slow burn. 🔥  but the tension was so good. And when Kir speaks, I am sat.

DISCLAIMER: I’m not an avid dark romance reader and usually do not like them.

I knew I was gonna like this book. I KNEW IT. And if you are just in the mood to read a military ambiance story, then you’ll like it too 😌. I was excited to read about all those military missions and experiences, which is WHY I would’ve liked for the military part of the book to last longer. I guess I was at like 30% when we were moving to something else 😭😭

SASHA

Since the very start of the story, Sasha gives away so many hints that she’s a woman, one of those being her hair and the fact that she did nothing to her face to make it appear manly. Anyway, I still liked her a lot. The fact that she has a purpose and a mission to accomplish by staying at Kirill's side to avenge her family and that this wasn’t love at first sight: good. It actually hurt a little bit when she said she still doesn’t have feelings for him but I know we’ll get there, especially when she called him ‘My monster’ 🫢😏

KIRILL

Surprisingly, I found Kirill pretty hilarious and low-key cute in how he makes houses of cards 😂. His crazy side shows when we move towards the middle of the book, and I’m relieved to say that it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. He is not so dark right now (keyword being the word so). I don’t think he’s the most romantic fictional man ever, but you can’t blame me for wanting him to be because of THE GLASSES! Oh my god, those freaking glasses. If you’ve watched the K-drama Marriage Proposal then you’ll understand me when I say this: he removes his glasses to kiss her 🙃🌝🙂‍↔️. Or when he spoon-feeds her?! Or the cabin scenes?! 😳

I LOVED that cliffhanger, which is such a weird thing to say, but it was just what we needed in the story so things will spice up a little bit. So yeah, I’m super excited to read the next book and thrilled to announce that I have finally found a Rina K book that I enjoyed 🙌🏻✨

I'm sorry but the fmc is just stupid, still I enjoyed reading, even if I'm not attached to these characters, and I'm not even interested in them, I just kept reading to know where this is going.
