This was a cute, cozy magical romance. Think Practical Magic meets Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I enjoyed the characters and the humor. A fun read for spooky season. Thank you to NetGalley and Forever for this arc.

This book was so darn cute! A kooky coven of magicless witches in small town Texas accidentally break the family curse that locks up their magic with the help of their youngest coven member. The grumpy new warlock next door has to find a way to re-hex them before the powers that be, ruin his family. I am hoping the series continues, such fun side characters and southern charm

Enjoyable hallmark kinda story. Even made me cry at one point.

Big thanks to Hachette Audio and Forever for providing this ALC via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Looking for the perfect cozy, witchy rom-com to curl up with this fall? "Hot Hex Boyfriend" has got you covered! This delightful story follows Delia Merriweather, a skeptic when it comes to magic despite her family's witchy claims. But when she accidentally breaks a generations-old hex, chaos ensues, and enters Max Halifax—the brooding (and oh-so-handsome) new neighbor who's not too thrilled about the sudden magical mayhem next door. Sparks fly, magic misfires, and trust me, you'll be hooked from page one.

I absolutely loved the charming small-town Texas setting Carly Bloom created. Places like the Mourning Glory Cafe and the Ice House felt so real and inviting, I found myself wishing I could pop in for a coffee or a dance! The side characters are just as enchanting, each bringing their own quirks and southern flair that add so much warmth and humor to the story. And let's talk about the magic system—surprisingly detailed and intriguing for a lighthearted read, it adds the perfect sprinkle of enchantment to Delia and Max's journey.

If audiobooks are your jam, you're in for a treat. The dual narration along with the fun accents bring the story to life in the best way possible. Narrators Laura Knight Keating and Zion Jang do an amazing job of giving each character a unique voice. With a dash of enemies-to-lovers vibes, personal growth, and plenty of magical mishaps, "Hot Hex Boyfriend" is a feel-good read that will leave you smiling and believing in a little bit of magic. Grab a pumpkin spice latte, get comfy, and enjoy this enchanting ride!

✨ARC Review✨

I enjoyed the absolute fvck out of this book. Delia and Max are joining my favorite book couples. So funny, hot, and sweet. Thank you, @carlybloombooks for such a great time!

Delia Merriweather’s eccentric grandma and great-aunts have always said they’re witches and Delia in particular, as a witch born on a blue moon and given fairy magic, has the ability to break the hex they’re under. Delia has never seen a shred of proof of this witchy heritage, so she thinks they’re all harmless, ol’ characters.

Their kind neighbor, Hartwell Halifax, has recently died and his nephew, Max, has come to settle the estate. He didn’t start out very friendly. Probably because unbeknownst to the Merriweathers, he’s there on assignment from the witch council to ensure Delia doesn’t break the hex before her thirtieth birthday.

But then Delia and Max actually set eyes on each other and you know how this is gonna go. Bless him. Max does try to fight his attraction to Delia for approximately five seconds.

This all takes place in the little Texas town of Willow Root where everyone knows everyone’s business. I love this town! I mean, there’s even a restaurant called Mourning Glory Cafe where they only serve funeral food. “All of the comfort. None of the Death.” What more can you need in a small town romance?

This book was so much fun! I loved that it was a romance novel that was also very witchy and had a really good mystery at the center of everything. I honestly had such a blast reading it and loved all the characters with their many quirks. It also addressed some heavy topics around classism while still making the story relatable to everyone. I really hope we see more books set in this world!

Thank you Forever and NetGalley for the ARC!

This is one of those books that I really had no expectations for going in and then ended up really really enjoying. I have thought about this book several times since finishing it. The plot is so interesting and fun and the hero is such a simp and I am so here for it. The characters were all so charming. Such a great book to kick of witchy romance season.
