honestly, this book had so much potential, but i felt like there were so many parts that were unnecessary. the writing started out really good, but then i just wanted the details to be spared because it just felt like there could be so many things that could've been left out.

the plot would've been really good if it weren't for the entire like middle 300 pages that felt like filler. i think this book was definitely not the best, but it wasn't bad for the sole factor of cayden and elowen. like i loved them together and they as people were really interesting together, so it made for many interesting parts. same with the found family with those two and finnian, saskia, and ryder. they were all so cute, but i heavily enjoy plot in my books and this story lacked a fantastic plot.

This book moved a bit slow for me in the beginning, but when it picked up I was swept up in a book that spoke to burning tensions, found family, betrayal, and dragons.

I really enjoyed the story the author weaved. She created a strong powerful FMC on a journey of revenge and a MMC that said all the right things (woo). But the side characters truly sold it for me. They added such depth. I was excited to see them all become a team.

I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.
