This has been a very interesting reread. I originally read the traditionally published version earlier in the year. I decided to read the the indie version before reading book 2, Wrath of the Dragons, that came out today. However, the two versions are very different!
I really enjoyed this version. It satisfied my need for more details that I felt were missing in the other so I gave it a half star more than my original review. However, there are stand out scenes from the other version that were not in this one or very different and I'm not sure how I feel about. This includes the prologue that I really loved in the newer version.
Also when I opened Wrath of the Dragons, the author's note says she highly recommends reading the newer version before going into this second book, so now I feel like I need to reread the trad published version as well before moving on to the next. Regardless, I love this story and may end up adding Cayden to my book boyfriend list.

I absolutely DEVOURED this book!! I know that it has mixed reviews and a lot of people don’t like it but I loved it. I loved the characters, the kingdoms and the build up throughout.
