I'm fairly certain this is the last Anne book I finished back in middle school.

I've always been a sucker for "going off to college" and "found family" storylines; add in "enemies to friends to lovers" and I'm hooked.

By this book, Rachel and Marilla have moved in together. Not the most important plot point but this is the book where I became most convinced they were lovers.

(Note: I'm re-reading the fourth right now, but I've never enjoyed epistolary novels! We'll see if I can make it through this one!)

ANNE AND GILBERT KILL ME WITH EVERYTHING THAT I AM. I love how this is such a low stakes time even though the plot still moves. I need my own copy of this series so I can annotate and cry over it. The way LM creates a world that you want to live in is brilliant, especially in how timeless it is. I love this so so much. Again, I need to buy this series.

“there never could be anyone else for me but you. I’ve loved you ever since that day you broke that slate over my head in school”

A bit too lazy to write a review but I loved this! Probably will do it later on. It’s a bit unbelievable how one day, I’d be down for a 400-word review and the next, I can barely write. The same goes for the next book! I’ll not be reviewing it quite yet.

There wasn’t much plot surrounding Anne’s college studies. This book focused more on the social aspects of college and Anne’s friendships.

Better than the last one, but still not as good as the first.
