i was frustrated, happy, angry, happy again, sad, disappointed, confused, happy again, crybaby whilst reading this book. i love it even tho it made me angry most of the times, but what can i say? i got my happy ending. it was worth it. and i love that.
In this book, Anne goes to college and makes friends with Phil, Pri, and Stella. She gets her B.A by the end. She gets her first proposal from Billy andrews's sister, her 2nd from Gilbert, and 3rd from Sam, and 4th from Roy, and she refuses em all. hhhhhhhh what an single independent lady she has become. anyways, she writres her first story and wins a prize for it. She carries on to sell stories as she works on summertime. Anne rents a house for the 1st time along with her college friends. Phil marries to nor Alec or Alonzo but rather to Jonas. Diana gets married too and has her first baby boy. Ruby dies. Aunt Josephine dies leaving some good money for Anne. and oh Jane is married too.. yaaani mlkher everyone is getting married from her surroundings except for her. why? bcz she thought she was in love with Roy but in fact she was in love with Gilbert. and she discovered that when Gilbert was so ill. anw, Gilbert asked her again if she is to be his wife within 3 years from now, and she said she belongs to him, and he to her. and that was so sweeeeetttttttttt... have i mentioned before that i love them?
Anne's character is developing to be more careful, less of a risky head. she is settling to be a woman, and not much trouble has happened to her in this book really. BUT Davy ( her adopted twin brother) is taking her place in making me laugh so hard. he's such an inquisite kid, and i like him.

Read many times as a child. 5 stars.

Re-read 2021. 5 stars.

I love this book. It was possibly my favourite of the Anne series as a child and reading it as an adult I fell in love with it all over again. I love Anne's female friendships in this book, but Anne and Gilbert as a couple have my whole heart. Love them so much.
