"New adventures lie ahead as Anne Shirley packs her bags, waves good-bye to childhood, and heads for Redmond College. With old friend Prissy Grant waiting in the bustling city of Kingsport and frivolous new pal Philippa Gordon at her side, Anne tucks her memories of rural Avonlea away and discovers life on her own terms, filled with surprises...including a marriage proposal from the worst fellow imaginable, the sale of her very first story, and a tragedy that teaches her a painful lesson. But tears turn to laughter when Anne and her friends move into an old cottage and an ornery black cat steals her heart. Little does Anne know that handsome Gilbert Blythe wants to win her heart, too. Suddenly Anne must decide if she's ready for love..." (From Amazon)
As Anne goes to school we meet new characters and one thing Montgomery is good at is creating great characters. Whether you love or hate them you will always remember them.

Like [b:Anne of Avonlea|859118|Anne of Avonlea (Anne of Green Gables, #2)|L.M. Montgomery|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1320499706s/859118.jpg|63845], this book was initially a bit difficult to get into since Anne has become much more sensible and levelheaded in her transition from girl to woman, plus there is the change in setting away from magical Avonlea to contend with. However, once Anne settles into her college life at Redmond, the story feels akin to comfort food. I greatly enjoyed reading about Anne and Gilbert's blossoming romance, which is fraught with obstacles but has a lovely payoff in the final chapter. Anne's new friend Phil is a welcome addition to the sprawling cast of characters; her outspoken personality is always dialed up to eleven, yet she serves as the welcome voice of reason several times. Montgomery has a tendency to dwell on meaningless incidentals and Davy's existence continues to irritate me, but the good far outweighs the bad to make this book worth reading.
I loved it as much (or more) as the first one. I love Anne and it’s so special to see (read) her grow from a child to a woman.

Dziwny tom.
(No i książka zbójecka jeśli idzie o budowanie w czytelniczce oczekiwań nt.
