This book literally felt like I donned a new skin when I was reading it.

Even now I’m have a hard time extracting myself from the voice of the narrator.

Magda Szabó does the impossible job of getting you to deeply empathise with a spoiled bratty teenage girl. You grow to love her and your own younger, more naïve but completely misguided takes on life.

Girlhood. Academia. Purpose. Goodness. War.

Can’t wait for the day I can write a coherent review on this one.
